Crooks also teases Lennie due to the racism evident in society during that period. Lennie presents himself as a vulnerable character before Crooks and so he pounces at the opportunity to upset someone else. Crooks does not understand how gentle Lennie is and thinks he is just a dumb brute. He gets upset and starts to think that someone had harmed George so Crooks has to calm him down quickly. Crooks is suspicious of the animals that Lennie is secretly keeping.
Probably because he knows that Lennie depends on George, and would miss him if he left, and Crooks is trying to upset Lennie. Crooks told Lennie to get out of his room. He makes Lennie think that George won't come back, but he is only doing it so Lennie feels what it's like to be alone which is exactly how Crooks feels. Lennie is one of the few people that Crooks has power over.
Lennie had just trespassed in Crook's room. Crooks is teasing Lennie, because he knows that Lennie depends on George to make every decision for him. When Lennie thinks this is true, he gets really worried.
Because he is gulible, he believes him so easily. Lennie told Crooks about their dream ranch, which Geroge specifically told Lennie not to tell anyone else. Crooks invites Lennie to stay and talk with him because he is lonely, and wants to see the pups. Because Lennie has people to talk to like George and crooks have no one to talk to. Because lennie is a big guy and says something about nobody will hurt george and it scares crooks.

Crooks is used to being ignored and doesn't know how else to react when Lennie is nice to him. One evening, Crooks sits down Lennie and gives him a talk. Lennie gets quite upset about this.
