I would have thought that since fleeces dry really quickly they should be better than other things but lately even nearly new things come out smelling 10 times worse than when they went in! Can anyone offer any insight? Original poster's comments 2. Wow this gets more complicated. I think the items in particular I've had a problem with I've done at 40, then at Should I be doing them lower?

I've never used fabric conditioner til a week ago clothes dried in the house smelt horrid and damp compared to those on the line with the weather it's a struggle but the last week I have used scented fabric conditioner and I now have super soft nice smelling clothes x. I don't have a dryer, just been doing them in a room. I wonder if they can pick up smells from in the room? I think it's a ventilation inside to outside and the damp dry? I'm looking to invest in one of these.. You won't find it at supermarkets; maybe an exceptionally well-stocked yarn or crafts supply store might have it but you can order it online from many suppliers.

That's funny. I bought a bedsheet in India 10 years ago. I turned it in to a quilt and it still stinks. Many washes and airings and treatments and dry cleaning later, it's not better. I decided last weekend, after my visiting sister told me it smelled like a dog, that I would get rid of it. It's a shame as it looks gorgeous.

The bedsheet doesn't smell chemically At the same time I was given a whole bunch of Tibetan textiles, manufactured in India, by Tibetans After hours of soaking to the point where they faded and sitting in the sun But the fabrics look terrible.

I wondered if the smellw was the um For the sake of my credibility I should add that I've remembered it wasn't chloroform How embarrassment! Tumble dry on a low-heat or no-heat regime, and avoid ironing, and your fleece cover will be feathery soft. Once a season, wash your fleece and cotton throw blankets separately on a gentle cycle in cold water. Garlough recommends line drying them or using a no-heat setting on your dryer to keep them from shrinking. All you need to do is use a bit of detergent and apply it closely on the spots where the stains are.

Then, leave it be for a while and allow the detergent to loosen up the stains in the fabric. Sour Smell The most common causes for sour-smelling clothes are leaving them in the washer too long before putting them in the dryer or overloading the machine. Rewash them in smaller loads with a cup of sudsy ammonia. It could be your washing machine too. Do you use fabric softner this can build up in the machine and cause a build up of bacteria.

Also try drying the fleece in the sun outside after washing it.
