At present, FMS does not have any official foreign exchange programmes. However, the Institute has strong international associations with colleges abroad. City IIM Ahmedabad :. Ahmedabad is a city which sees a temperature spectrum ranging from 12C to 41C. It is also a dry-state, so your parties If you get the time will have to be alcohol-free.
The city is majorly vegetarian. Public transportation and infrastructure are quite good at Ahmedabad. Delhi, as the national capital, is the hub for booming businesses, great and cheap street food, and a reasonably good nightlife. Safety, however, is a major concern in the city. The temperatures are extreme. The rent can go very high, depending on the locality you are in. Also, the city is very large so the distances can often become an issue. The Institute is located in the heart of the city, and tech hubs such as Electronic City Corporate Head Office of Infosys is here are only an hour away from the city centre.
However, traffic in the city is a really huge issue. Additionally, the travel time from the city to the airport is close to 1. The nightlife was restricted earlier, but now pubs are open till 1 AM. Locations such as MG Road and Koramangala are great for outings and relaxing. But the weather is still preferable over the other cities on this list. However, it is the closest major city to the Institute.
Kolkata, as a metropolitan city, is very well connected in terms of transportation and the cost of living is relatively low as compared to other Metros. The weather is known to be extremely humid and sometimes unbearable. There is a stretch of winters which lasts for only months before the humidity returns.
Besides, FMS has half the batch size that IIM L has, so you one is competing with half the people for the same jobs apart from the initial few "top 4 consults". So basically, for someone with an average profile, making your profile top notch is possible more at FMS than at any other school. Let me illustrate this with my example: I had a very average profile when I came in, my acads being 90,72,60! And in my 2 years at FMS, I was able to maintain good acads, won many B school corporate competitions, represented India at events abroad, held a top POR and did one good live project.
And I got shortlists in day 0 slot 0 companies in the finals and made it to one of them. And there were many people like me who were able to do the same. You will obviously be able to do this at other schools too, but at FMS its more likely. Personally if I was at L or XL, I may have struggled to keep up with the academic pressures and may have never had the opportunity to really set myself apart from the others who are also struggling to keep up with acads.
At most schools, you have the best opportunities only if you come in with the best profiles. At FMS, you can make your profile among the best. It will give you more of a shot to express yourself and grow while at B school. Different people will lay varying emphasis on different sets of these parameters.
So obviously, different perspectives will yield different results. Its all gray! Decide what is most important for you and then compare the schools on those parameters.

The strength of a batch at FMS Delhi is approximately students based on the number of students in , which is less than half the strength of the IIM institutes. The lower batch strength at FMS Delhi offers more benefits in terms of personal attention to students, facilitated teaching, greater discipline and detailed pedagogical planning than the IIMs.
However, many may also see the lower batch strength as a result of limited infrastructure and other facilities.
