Enjoyed blogposts, story's and discussions on ipernity to much. A place to share thoughts, improve your self, a place were contacts are contacts not followers of a internet mass. Flickr it self is the follower here, they follow twitter, but sadly the struck rocks now. There a sinking ship in a ocean of better image sharing sites. I honestly hope flickr will refloat like the Dockwise Vanguard does many times a year. But, I think Flickr will be refloat by others like the Costa Concordia is being re-float onto the Vanguard.

Towed away by the Dockwise Vanguard. Dockwise Vanguard: www. Costa concordia: www. Note: The dockwise vanguard is the biggest semi submersible in the world and will transport the Costa Concordia on it's back. The costa will be scrapped.

I had a fabulous b-day since last weekend. Ken gave me a big b-day gift, that was a ticket to jp. I ate 4 cakes this year You can download this poster and use it, OR make a black poster of your own liking in your preferred language voicing your protest. If you wish to join, please do not upload any other picture on December 8. If you know that you'll be away on December 8, make sure this is the last picture on your stream by uploading this any day before December 8.

Yahoo has new ideas. Those who want to be rid of advertisements have to pay. Why should you quit? I appeal you all those who plan to quit, to change your mind and stay. You can make use of your accounts just for storage. Make your accounts private, make this image public, and use flickr for storage. You can save on external hard disks.

Im not sure you are talking about the same thing. The increase from photos happened six months ago. We are talking about flickr's currently experimental "new photo experience beta. I don't consider imgur and 9gag photography sites. They are image sharing sites, but I rarely see original photos there, its mostly image memes and reposting of other people's original work.

If flickr wants to be the next imgur and 9gag, then we clearly need to find another site that takes photography seriously. Both of those sites have comments under the photo where there is plenty of room to read and type. Instagram and Vine are optimized for phones so isn't really comparable to a computer screen interface. Instagram on the web does the same comments on the side and enter submits, but there is far more room for reading the comments at least since photos take up a significantly smaller part of the screen.

I presume the phone app version still has the comments below. Don't force that on everyone. What they have done to commenting reduces the ability to interact with your "circle" in favor of near full screen images and short fast superficial commenting. If the doors of the net were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, hyperlinked. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things through narrow chinks of his flesh. Chaoxiang is butchering his th Demon Satyr in Felwood when his connection drops.

Instantly all the faces in the room look away from the screen and the room is filled with a sense of relief, today everyone will get to go home early. For the first time in its existence, the flow of information dries up. The entirety of the network is offline. In the days that follow, a sense of non-existence takes hold, without any means by which to reach out. Words are uttered, but fail to enlighten. The things and events to which. Even the neo-Luddites find themselves gormless in the face of a utopia they were not ready to face.

In the seconds that preceded this unexplainable technological collapse, files were dumped from p2p networks and unidentifiable servers world wide. The fragments of a message were encrypted within every file that was downloaded in that final moment. The event is constant, it doesn't switch off, anyone and everyone is welcome to join and dropout at any point.

New tools have been added to the site to facilitate the event, mailing list for daily updates as well as a shoutbox to leave lasting messages. The Seer resides in the chatroom at all times, specific command can provoke it to give information on the progress of the game:. There are no rules to this event, however it will be necessary to unearth intimate and personal details of people you don't know across the globe.

I can read the comments from the ShoutBox but unfortunately I cannot answer it directly because I'm on my handphone on weekends. A case of can see but cannot touch. I do not have many 'original books'. The two books you see there is my latest books that I've bought. That's almost 3 years ago!! I wanted to get the Silman Reassess your chess workbook but Mok recommended this book instead saying the workbook is not suitable for me yet at my level. I have not read the book much since I bought it but have recently started to read it.

There's plenty of interesting ideas on the psychology of players and how GMs and beginner's think. I particularly like Rowson's idea of talking to your pieces. A ridiculous idea whe I first read it. But it soon grew on me. It gives a new perspective on trying to understand how the pieces interact and giving 'life' to inaninimate chess pieces.

You imagine asking your Knight whether he is happy with his position and how he feels he can help the rest of the army or something of that idea There are many more interesting ideas on why mistakes are made as well as suggestions to erradicate them.

Good book. That's why it's 'promoted' to my beside book reading collection. The Complete Book of Chess Strategy by Jeremy Silman is not bad but I feel that the only useful section for me is the introduction of opening ideas.

But that section is too brief. Wished there was a book in that style that explained the major ideas of openings of certain variation. During my teenage years I spent my school holidays travelling to and fro Johor-Singapore for one and only one reason : to visit the National Singapore Library.

Back then it was heaven. The library listed books on their computers and you can find out where the books are they have something like 6 or 7 branches.

I borrowed and photostated magazine such as Pergamon Chess now known as just "Chess". I went to Singapore so often that I had to change my passport because the pages were full of stamps. I also visited the Johor Library which also had a good collection of chess books.

Saw some famous names like NM Kamal Abdullah in the borrower's list and borrowed the same books they borrowed. Anyway nowadays I don't have much time to read except perhaps during the night before I fall asleep. I know many chess players who have spent a fortune building a chess library. One person who comes to mind is coach Balendran. I think his total cost for the buying original chess books is enough to pay for a Kancil car :. We are testing out some UI adjustments to Shoutbox on our internal Open Atrium to see how well they work.

The Shoutbox is now implemented as a popup palette, with a count indicator in its menu item see counter here www. If this goes well, we might roll the changes into core.

With that said - when I go for walks in the woods or wherever, sights like these makes me think "is there really no hope for this planet?

How are we supposed to keep this planet healthy and livable for future generations when we're not even able to throw our trash and litter where it belongs? Posted in the shoutbox 9. That is not correct. All the rounds will start 9. Apologies to those who was misled and turned up at the tournament before 9am. Lim beat Loo. He is currently still on top with 2 points along with 9 other players.

Thankfully this one does not involve my reporting on this blog. Life is just not fair. I've lost terribly before to Jax on the black side. Today was a repeat of the same opening. Different mistakes. Same result. Still I shouldn't complain much. So far the best result in a long time for this patzer. Looking at the top boards, there is no clear results yet for all top 4 boards.

Yee Weng and Tan Khai Boon looks drawish with level material. It's Tjin Hau vs Siti on board 2. I'm temporarily leaving the playing hall to collect my PDA charger from the office. Otherwise these weekend I will have a dead PDA which is certainly no fun as I have all the player's games on it.

I've sold off all the CDs I brought with me today. Thanks for the support guys. The money goes directly to helping me maintain this blog as well as GilaChess. The count shows the number of items that have a timestamp later than the last time you opened the popup. See popup here www. If you can't access the new beta you probably still miss the point I make here, so read further with me.

Words with a hashtag in front are tags, you place them in the description. Photos need to be looked at, not shouted over. There is no place for good discussions on the new Flickr, this is sad.

Photos have to be discussed, with the aim for us to improve our pictures and knowledge by looking and discussing them on Flickr. The future Flickr removes this place for the exchange of thoughts, removes the soul of images, the story, the Shot.

We're left with Iphone pictures of people breakfasts and activities. Here we feature HD videos that are super awesome. Sit back and enjoy! This channel is moderated by the staff of Vimeo.

Open Atrium is an intranet in a box that has group spaces to allow different teams to have their own conversations. It comes with six features - a blog, a wiki, a calendar, a to do list, a shoutbox, and a dashboard to manage it all. During our open mic session, he talked to us about the Open Atrium service, which is a free and apparently better!

Open Atrium is completely customizable. If you want a feature that's not on that list, you can add it yourself. Michael Siong 2. Stonemaster Fadli 3. Viewers can design individual messages using their smartphones and send them directly to the system. A jury regularly selects young companies and startups to be featured in the shop windows. As soon as a passer-by stands on a marked point, the complex arrangement of lamps and light unravels for the viewer and an interactive ticker becomes legible.

Via QR code and smartphone, own messages and crazy light effects can be controlled in the shop window. Return the Eye is a project that combines installation, text, sound, and video, with a remote viewing system that telematically conjoins viewers. These works consider visibility, the elastic ontology of virtual images and the weaponization of optical technologies. An online experience, Return the Eye collects user data generated by visitors, which then enact audio-visual transformations in real time.

Simultaneously, three user-controlled cameras situated in the gallery operate as a portal to surveil installed objects referencing machine intelligence, ecology, and state violence. Our hope is that people synchronize their visits to the website with others, as the sonic output of this is something like a collaborative, networked synthesizer, where multiple people shape different parameters of the sound simultaneously.

The installation should be presented on September but there is a pandamic going on so premiere hopefully will be on summer and it will become part of the permanent collection at the museum.

The light sculpture hangs above the heads of the spectators is 8 meters high. The animated light moves in complete symbiosis with the music, which combines electronic sounds with classical instruments. The digital lifestyle is illuminated artistically.

The story begins with the early days of the computer, a mechanical calculating machine. It tells of machines becoming faster and faster and more and more high-resolution, until they are finally more powerful than their designers and users in many areas. The border between the digital and analogue world becomes blurred. Among other things, human dimensions of change, our permanent interaction with machines and their algorithmic filter worlds, emotional highs and lows, and the speed of life in the digital age are addressed.

Thanks to dottore for the runtime model editor and nsynk for the timeline tilda and the vvvv group and the amazing community.
