Bridging the gap for these faculty members may be difficult, but 1 successful method is to engage them in team-oriented trainings that show obvious improvements in patient outcomes or safety. Mackenzie and colleagues 57 also offer an informative account of the key elements of success of their IPE program by linking successful organizational structure and actions with the Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative competency domains.
When discussing collaboration, the key issues include putting the community or client first, the organization second, oneself last, and prejudices aside.
